Mother Hubbard’s Garden (MHC) Youth Garden program utilizes our onsite garden and various community gardens to provide hands-on learning opportunities for children from the families that shop in our pantry and other community members. A $1000 award will assist MHC in growing our Youth Garden program, specifically our Kids Cook Program. Kids Cook workshops occur twice weekly, and 78 times a year in MHC’s food pantry kitchen. Children of all ages are invited to learn how to prepare healthy, simple recipes using fresh produce from the garden. This money will be used to for the supplies needed to maintain the program, such as child-safe knives, stools, and various recipe items.
