One hundred and thirty Central Illinois families received Thanksgiving food baskets, thanks in part to a $1,000 Love Like Lija grant. Twenty Limestone High School student council members assembled and distributed these baskets families in need. LLL funds were used to purchase turkeys, oven bags, disposable pans and rolls; community members contributed pies and canned goods.
According to the longtime coordinator of the annual event, it has always served as “a blessing to the community but because of COVID, we weren’t sure about how we were going to make it happen. We were so grateful to LLL for helping us show love to those in need.”
