Love Like Lija funds made their way to Kenya to help at-risk families struggling during the third lockdown due to COVID-19. This project supported school-age children who were recently sent home again due to lockdowns; they were provided with food and solar lanterns. According to their application “Since schools are closed again…children spend their days traveling to get water, waiting in long lines and then return home when it is dark and still have to do their at-home studies. The price of kerosene has increased and the oil-burning lanterns are harmful to their eyes. Food is also greatly needed now that the school children are home and not receiving their meals at school.” We were able to provide solar lanterns, food and basic needs to 50 families in this village. Thank you to Sandi and Robert who made this project happen. We are humbled and grateful for your partnership.
