Comfort Blankets

We partnered with the 7th and 8th grade students from Trinity Lutheran School in Lombard. They spearheaded a project to donate 75 fleece blankets to the Edwards Hospital PICU. According to their final report, “The students in the 7^th and 8^th grade classroom took the lead on the project cutting the material to varying sizes. They pre-cut the material for younger students to make the blankets. Students in 5^th through 8^th grade each had a station and task they were in charge of assisting the younger students with. This project took the older students two days and 5^th through preschool participated one day. We were able to buy a variety of fleece material to meet the needs of all patients that were in the PICU. The blankets are sent home with the patients after their stay.”
