We partnered with the 7th and 8th grade students from Trinity Lutheran School in Lombard. They spearheaded a project to donate 75 fleece blankets to the Edwards Hospital PICU. According to their final report, “The students in the 7th and 8th grade classroom took the lead on the project cutting the material to varying sizes. They pre-cut the material for younger students to make the blankets. Students in 5th through 8th grade each had a station and task they were in charge of assisting the younger students with. This project took the older students two days and 5th through preschool participated one day. We were able to buy a variety of fleece material to meet the needs of all patients that were in the PICU. The blankets are sent home with the patients after their stay.”
