This month we partnered with the GFWC North Pinellas Woman’s Club and Juniorettes in Clearwater, FL. Funds were used to purchase books that promote kindness and acceptance to six Title 1 elementary schools, thus supporting teachers in their efforts to teach diversity and kindness and promote inclusion in the classroom. By providing the books in a storage unit on wheels, the libraries can be shared among all K-4 classrooms in the school.
Each library also contained a Classroom Teacher Folder with a cover letter about the mission of Love Like Lija, reproducible activity packets about kindness, diversity and inclusion, reproducible bookmarks and links to videos of volunteers reading the books aloud.
